Capt. Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger Retires - Nightline's Daily Line

The nerves-of-steel Flight 1549 pilot has retired from commercial flying, according to this gracious press release from US Airways just a few minutes ago.
Sullenberger gained instant hero status for safely completing a water landing after a bird strike killed power to both Airbus engines above the Hudson River in January 2009. He is credited with saving all 155 lives onboard, including his own.
Doreen Welsh, a flight attendant on Flight 1549, joins Sullenberger in retirement after her 39-year career, according to the airline.
To mark the occasion, embedded below is our entire episode from that night, anchored by Martin Bashir and with Vicki Mabrey live at the Hudson River. Great time capsule of a remarkable day.
And to Sully, congratulations. Job well done and good luck with whatever the future holds.
